Regards from Fix on spot. Nowadays lot of people using PDF forms to collect data online and offline. Mr. Alan from Canada asked us how to make a non savable PDF Form. So his staff can fill the data on PDF form and take the printout and give him without saving the filled PDF. We hope the the following work flow will help the people those who want to implement same scenario.

HOW DO I MAKE A PDF UNSAVABLE BUT STILL PRINTABLE?

I would like to create a PDF that is fillable and printable, but the data should not be saved. Can you help me with this?

That’s possible with the help of JavaScript. You can create a “Document Will Save” event handler to delete the form data that was added to the document. This will however always remove all data when you save the document, so even if the user is saving while editing the form, the form will be erased before saving.

On Acrobat select Tools > JavaScript > Set Document Actions

acrobat

On the new dialog that pops up, select the “Document will save” action and add the JavaScript command

this.resetForm();

in the Execute this JavaScript : section to reset all the fields on the form. :

docusave

When you get to this point, there is no turning back: The document will be saved, and just before that, your form will be reset.
